Community Talk/Visit
click to view The Waste Cycle The Community Liaison Officer will attend local meetings to give an informative presentation entitled 'Managing the Island's Waste'. The presentation generally lasts about 50 minutes, but can be tailored to suit.
Alternatively, your group may wish to visit Island Waste Services Sites, these include the Composting Plant, the Landfill site and the Resource Recovery Facility in Forest Road. Visits will last for one and a half to two hours, depending on the number of sites included.

PowerPoint Presentation
An Island Waste Services PowerPoint Presentation is available. This presentation is based on the Island Waste Services large and informative display, which can currently be seen at the Visitors Centre located at the main Civic Amenity site in Briddlesford Road.

The presentation is suitable for use with older Middle school pupils, GCSE and 'A' level students as well as community groups. It provides a summary of Waste Management activities on the Island, together with some useful facts and figures.

It would be preferable if this presentation were supplemented by a visit to Island Waste Services sites and a more detailed presentation by a Community Liaison Officer.

If you would like to book a talk or visit or wish to find out a little more detail on these, you may either phone to discuss with the Community Liaison Officer (tel 821234) or fill in your details on the Contact Us page.
