For environmental audit purposes the office environment has been assessed for the use of water, electricity, paper and the issue of suppliers has also been addressed.
Electricity Within the office low energy fluorescent lights have been installed. Staff are reminded to turn off unwanted lights, computers and photocopiers. Water Bog hogs have been installed in most toilets and posters remind staff of the need to conserve water. Paper As part of the ISO 14001 process, the use of office paper has been assessed. The result has been a change to the use, wherever possible, of recycled paper as well as a system of reusing paper. Suppliers It is important to encourage the businesses that supply Island Waste Services to begin to think about Environmental issues, a process called 'Greening the supply chain'. ^ Back to top |
