The Island's households produce approximately 5million bin liners of rubbish every year.
If these were stacked on top of each other they would be about 40 metres (130ft) high! - equivalent to 9 double decker buses. If these were laid end to end they would stretch for 2,500kms or 1,554 miles - the distance between London and Athens!!! That's just over half a tonne per household or 75 refuse sacks per year!
